Explanation
The COLUMNS function is fully automatic.
When you provide a range to COLUMNS, it will return a count of all columns in the range.
To count rows in a range, see theROWS function.
Total columns in range
To count the number of columns in a range, use the COLUMNS function. In the example shown, the formula in F6 is: =COLUMNS(B5:C10)
