Microsoft Makes Breakthrough In Making DNA Storage A Reality

Microsoft in collaboration with the University of Washington at the Molecular Information Laboratory (MISL) has developed a faster method of reading and writing data in DNA format meeting the ever-growing need of data storage.

As per prediction by theInternational Data Corporation, data storage demands will reach nine zettabytes by 2024.

This is the first indication of achieving the minimum write speeds required for DNA storage.
