Meta Will Let You Chat With AI Bots With Personalities, Report Says

The company could announce the chatbots as soon as September, the report said.

One such AI persona the company tried building is a digital incarnation of President Abraham Lincoln.

Meta declined to comment.

AI chatbots, exemplified byOpenAI’s ChatGPT, have become vastly more useful and engaging.

Chatbots are not without risks.

Many ChatGPT rivals are available already, includingAnthropic’s Claude 2,Microsoft’s BingandGoogle’s Bard.

So getting ahead simply by offering an AI chatbot doesn’t guarantee success.

Facebook has billions of users, though, and deep AI expertise.

In July itreleased its own Llama 2 large language model.
