For a change, pressing the function keys like F1 or F10 makes people wonder whats going on.
After all, they are designed to make these oft-repeated tasks more convenient.
Thats the reason why finding these keys malfunctioning seems like a chronic pain in the back.
1.To begin with, hit theApple menuat the upper left corner of the screen.
2.When the drop-down menu shows up, selectSystem controls.
Alternatively, press theCommand+Spacebar> search forSystem Settingsand punch it.
3.In the sidebar, scroll down and selectKeyboard.
4.Now, press theKeyboard Shortcutsbutton.
5.Next, select theFunction Keysin the left sidebar.
6.Turn off or on the toggle next toUse F1, F2, etc.
keys as standard function keys.
7.Do not forget to clock on theDonebutton before quitting the keyboard setting.
Once its enabled, the volume and the brightness keys wont work unless you press the FN key.
Nevertheless, Sonoma cant claim to tick off all the boxes.
There are quite a few quirks including the ill-fated function keys that have left many baffled.
In spite of repeated enhancements, some bugs manage to find their way into the latest macOS versions.
