Samsung and Fitbit didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The wearables industry continues to push impressive numbers, with41.7 million devices shipped globally earlier this year.

Apple remains the largest individual player thanks to itsApple Watch, although its devices only work with theiPhone.

This means that both Samsung and Google-owned Fitbit are important players in the Android market in the US.

The search giant also partnered with Samsung in 2021 to integrate its Wear OS with theGalaxy Watchseries.
