Amazon Gives Warehouse Employees Pay Raises Across the Country

Amazonis handing outpay raises and new benefitsfor its warehouse workers across the country.

Amazon said its average starting wages are now $19 an hour, up from $18.

Warehouse employees now earn between $16 and $26 an hour, depending on position and location.

Amazon earlier in September expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.

Injured warehouse workers have also complained offacing difficulties in getting benefitsand care covered by Amazon.

Amazon said it “works hard to protect our employees from any form of discrimination.”

The company has additionally faced allegations ofinsufficient precautionsaround COVID-19 andinadequate bathroom breaksfor warehouse workers.
